Fabrication of Thin Cavities with Gas Assisted Injection Moulding: Experiments and Simulations
نویسنده
چکیده
Despite some pitfalls in the practical application of the gas assisted injection moulding (GAIM) process, it offers a number of advantages over conventional injection moulding. However, its inherent complexity requires an advanced control over several additional parameters. This study is preliminar to examine the gas void and its relation to channel geometry and processing conditions for different materials for a GAIM process. The effects of channel geometry, along with processing conditions such as melt and mould temperature, melt viscosity, gas pressure and characteristics of the GAIM molded parts are investigated by experiments and simulations.

Experimental and Simulation - Assisted Feasibility Study of Gas Injection to Increase Oil Recovery Using a Combination of Semi-VAPEX and GAGD Techniques
Gas injection into heavy oil reservoirs could result in high ultimate recovery of oil. Experimental studies showed that an application of a combined technology of Gas Assisted Gravity Drainage (GAGD) and Vapor Extraction (VAPEX) could increase final oil recovery of a candidate viscous oil reservoir. In this paper the results of laboratory investigation are presented, including Pressure-Volu...
متن کاملPiezoceramic Element Design and Fabrication for Ultrasonic Transducer of Gas Meter
Ultrasonic transducers play a significant role in generating and receiving the acoustic waves in ultrasonic flowmeters. Depending on the required accuracy, the ultrasonic transducers can be installed either in one pair or more in an ultrasonic flowmeter. The main part of an ultrasonic transducer is its piezoceramic element. In this work, four piezoceramic elements with different diameter to thi...

The gas assisted injection moulding (GAIM) process has benefits realised through material saving, improved product performance and lower capital cost of machinery. This important process is similar to conventional injection moulding in so far as polymer melt enters a cavity under pressure. However, before the melt completely fills the cavity, nitrogen gas is introduced into the melt at high pre...
متن کاملNumerical simulation analysis of the in-cavity residual stress distribution of lignocellulosic (wood) polymer composites used in shallow thin-walled parts
In this paper, a numerical analysis of in-cavity residual stress formation in the thin-walled parts of injection-moulded parts is presented by considering the residual stresses produced during the post-filling stage. Injection moulding of shallow thin-walled parts with a thickness of 0.7 mm was performed using lignocellulosic polymer composites (PP + 50 wt% wood), and the parts have been system...

The main factor affecting the economics of foam-assisted water alternative gas (FAWAG) process is the loss of foaming agent by adsorption onto reservoir rocks. In this study, the effects of phases, surfactant concentration, salinity, adsorbents, and sacrificial agent on adsorption density were investigated by special adsorption experiments. Moreover, a series of FAWAG tests were performed to ex...
